Is Invisalign Worth The Investment?

Is Invisalign Worth the Investment? - Vellore Woods Dentistry

Invisalign is the leading clear aligner treatment – over 11 million people all over the world have successfully completed Invisalign treatment so far. It’s one of, if not the most, effective way to correct common cosmetic dental complaints and improve the appearance of your smile. Invisalign was originally created as a more convenient and less visible alternative to traditional metal braces and it has only gained more and more popularity in the years since it was launched.

Today, most dentists will offer Invisalign as a teeth straightening treatment, so it isn’t hard to find a provider. But, Invisalign isn’t for everyone. Depending on your personal preference, you may be better suited to a different type of tooth straightening treatment. Let’s take a look at whether or not Invisalign is worth the investment.

Cost Of Treatment

Invisalign, although offered by dentists, is typically only available in dedicated cosmetic dental clinics and these are usually private clinics. One of the most significant drawbacks that many patients find with Invisalign is the cost associated with it. The more severe your case, the more expensive treatment can be. Invisalign is also not usually covered by dental insurance or health plans.

However, a lot of dentists recognise that this could pose a problem for patients looking for Invisalign treatments so most will offer finance or payment plans which can make the treatment more affordable. A lot of patients, however, find that even though the treatment can be costly, the results provided far outweigh this.

Removable Aligners

Invisalign is the most utilised and trusted clear aligner treatment available. Invisalign aligners are highly effective and almost all patients report excellent results following their treatment. Although this is somewhat dependent on the dentist you choose, Invisalign is one of the teeth straightening treatments which provides consistent successful results.

Invisalign is highly successful and most of this success is attributed to the fact that they are removable and clear. Unlike other, more traditional, braces which are fixed to your teeth for the duration of your treatment, Invisalign aligners are removable. All you need to make sure that you do is wear them for 22 hours per day, so you can take them out when eating, drinking or for special occasions.

Treatment That Is Just As Effective As Braces

Invisalign can treat a wide range of cosmetic problems including crowding and spacing issues, minor bite issues and even more serious misalignment cases. Invisalign is considered to be more effective than traditional metal braces when it comes to solving the issue of moderate crowding of front teeth. The average duration of Invisalign treatment is between 1-2 years, whilst with traditional braces, this can be between 1-3 years. If there are only minimal issues to correct, it is likely that you will see results in around 6 months with Invisalign.

So, Is Invisalign Worth The Investment?

For patients with minor-moderate alignment issues, then Invisalign is well worth the investment, both in terms of the time that the treatment takes and the fact the aligners are clear and removable. For more serious alignment cases, or perhaps if you don’t have the budget for Invisalign, it may be that traditional braces are a better treatment option.
